Mews 5K Re-Cap

On a beautiful November afternoon, with the sun shining magnificently, a group of CFPer’s took to the Mews Tavern in Wakefield RI, for the annual Gear and Beer 5K road race.  All proceeds from the race went to a great cause, Easter Seals of RI.  This would end up like no 5K road race that the group had run before.  This one had challenges planned throughout.  The first challenge was the drinking of a beverage at every mile point.  The second challenge was the performance of a body weight exercise at every mile.  Accompanying us while we performed the exercises at the mile marks was CF South Kingston.

Here is how the race progresses.

Run 1 mile, drink, 25 push-ups.

Run mile 2, drink, 50 sit-ups (arms and legs were intertwined and group sit-ups were performed)

Run mile 3, drink, 75 air squats

Run 50M, than bear crawl across the finish line.

The group finished in just over 40 minutes, but had a blast running together and exercising together.  Afterwards, everyone stayed and enjoyed the BBQ and liquids from the taps.  All in all a great day!
